Photos of skin lesions

This is a closer look at the skin now.

One o'clock

Today I was adding some twigs to the screen that I have to view the foxes and badgers. It was one o'clock, lunchtime and I suddenly saw a flash of orange.... as I glanced up was totally surprised to see the vixen standing on the sett! She was just staring at me and I told her she was far too early. Now usually she would run off, but she just stood there! I was about to let the hens out, but couldn't trust the vixen, as she was so determined to stay. I went to disturb my partner who was working from home, to ask his advice! In the end I decided I would throw a few dog biscuits out, just to keep her satisfied until 3pm, her usual feeding time. She kept coming back to the sett until I did this. The hens were clucking loudly, drawing her attention, so threw some corn in for them too! Eventually she ate some biscuits and was licking the water bowl.
At 3pm when I took the food out, along with her fish paste sandwiches, I realised that the water bowl was empty. Seeing that hardly any biscuits had been eaten, realised she must have been thirsty. I got a few shots of her and although her skin is still clearly sore, it had stopped looking so infected. Sadly one photo showed just how emaciated she has become as you can see her ribs .

I will make sure that I put an extra bowl out, so she has access to more water.

Sitting down again

So this afternoon the vixen came onto the sett, still limping but not as bad as yesterday. Ate her medicated sandwich, sitting down the whole while and tearing bits off with her fore fott. Her skin looked raw to me and slightly worse than yesterday. She drank loads. I wish these mites would just stop eating her alive.....

Worse on one side and I am hoping it will not reach the other parts of her. It looks so sore and must be agony for her. At least the sun wasn't out today, making it even more unbearable for her.

Still limping......(Warning! Graphic descriptions and photos)

The vixen was a little later today and at first she seemed better than yesterday. Skin still has many lesions and abscesses and on closer inspection of the photos, realised that the one on her foot had burst, poor thing Martin from the National Fox Welfare seems to think that the treatment is helping and to carry on with it. I hope he is right.
She also sat down to eat today , weak in her legs from self inflicted wounds and sprains which they get from having to balance. I am just glad she is still eating

Healed foot, lame leg

This afternoon I was happy to see the vixen's foot swelling had gone down. A little tuft of fur sticking up and a tiny bald spot where she must have bitten another mite out. She looked ok at first glance, then I realised she was hardly putting any weight on her right back leg. After eating her sandwich with the arsnicum on, it was clear she was lame in that foot . Her sores still looked quite bad, the ones on her top back leg and neck and one on her upper leg/back. She limped off down the back of the land and I really hope she is better tomorrow.

Her eye seemed worse as well, not unusual as she is blind in that one too....The sunlight also makes that eye water. She is receiving treatment as much as I can give, with marmite added to her porridge or whatever left overs she gets, for Vitamin B. She had some colloidal silver in her water, a natural antibiotic that I often give to the hens when they are sick.
I make spirit dolls amongst other things, and one of my customers does a lot of healing and had asked if she could do some work on the fox. I said that I would like that, as she has worked with lots of people using my dolls. She said she would ask the vixen if she wanted healing....This pleased me greatly. The message I received from her this morning was this :

The good news is she is willing to have healing from me and is strong enough to to accept it. Sometimes if they are too weak they are unable to accept it.

I've done this healing for the her. I've done some Soul work, "destroying parasites buried in her Soul" and I've wrapped her in a deep pink silk cloth. Lots of loving energy and silk is reflective too, keeping away any additional negative energies from her. This will run for 2 weeks. I will keep an eye on her and see if she needs anything else and I will let you know of any changes.

I am so grateful for this as sounds so wondereful. I shall be lighting a blue candle tomorrow and letting it burn out. Sending more healing. I go to a spiritualist church tomorrow and will writer 'vixen' in the animal healing book.......

Update on the vixen.

Today I have not seen the vixen, but saw her from my bathroom window yesterday, hobbling around the back, eating the food and drinking. It was clear that she is still in a bad way. I have contacted the National fox welfare society, who have been asking me lots of questions: Has she got cubs? What area am I in? etc. Whilst I answered all the questions I am still left without answers to whether they can help her or not. I am wondering if by not having cubs makes her less of a priority? Still a great concern to me at the moment. I just don't think she can go much longer with these injuries.
The male fox has been feeding and cheekily coming to the sett when he thinks I am not around, but of course my fear is that he will get mange too.
On a different track here, but we went to collect some plants today and my partner noticed 'animal foot marks on the TOP of his car! The couple we went to see are also fox feeders and keepers of cats, as we are. We all agreed they were fox footprints!
This rather blurry photograph is of last years 'cub'! I went out tonight to see if I could catch a glimpse of the vixen to see what state she was in. Noisily crunching at the back of the land was another badger. This one shown here popped out of the sett to eat and I instantly recognised it as the one we nick named 'cotton tail' as it was the only one with a white tail last year........Soon be light enough to photograph them properly.

Limping

Today brought another sad sight, with the vixen already waiting for me. Showing no fear at all, which is a sign they are worsening. Her poor left fore foot is swollen to twice it's size and she cannot put it on the ground. She still has a few other lesions on her neck and some old wounds on her legs. I do not know how or if she will recover from this. I left the sett as I wanted her to eat something, and felt she was a little nervous out in the open like that. Poor thing!
